Serving Missoula and surrounding communities since 1994, Families First was established to provide support and information to all people raising children in Western Montana. Our children’s museum was created in 2002 by a group of parents who met through our parenting programs.
Our mission is driven by the belief that strong families create strong communities and that children benefit when their parents have appropriate support and they have opportunities for early education in a fun engaging environment. Our programs empower families with parent education and learning through play.
We recently closed our downtown facility on Front Street in preparation for a move to the Toole Crossing building at 812 Toole Ave. Leaving an environment that included tobacco smoke exposure, presumably from a neighboring business in our building, our relocation signifies renewal on many levels. We are hard at work with the facility design as we also celebrate the opportunity to further collaborate with our peer organization and forthcoming neighbor, spectrUM Discovery Area.
All parenting programs are still active, and our staff leadership team has relocated to a temporary administrative office to develop new programming and exhibit experiences.
With these exciting transitions and opportunities ahead for Families First Children’s Museum, this is a crucial time for community engagement. We’d like to invite you to participate in building this dynamic new chapter with us through financial support.
Your generous donation to Families First Children’s Museum helps us to continue our mission of providing services to strengthen families in our community through parenting support and positive interactions offered through informal play.
Families First is a qualified non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and all donations are tax-deductible. Our Federal Tax ID # is 81-0490719.
