Children’s Museum

Having been a vital part of the Missoula community since 2002, serving nearly 19,000 visitors in 2017 alone, our Children’s Museum facility has been a place where families can find hands-on learning and parent-child connections. Sadly, our facility on Front Street closed in early 2018 due to tobacco exposure from a neighboring business. Though this brought unforeseen challenge, we couldn’t be more excited about our permanent home in the brand new Missoula Public Library, scheduled to open in 2020.

We continue to see our unique role as that of facilitator of relationship building between children and adults, spotlighting the intersection of learning and play. In our new collaborative space in the library, FFCM will focus on intergenerational programming and support services for whole families, providing dynamic opportunities to learn and grow together. We look forward to carrying forward past Children’s Museum experiences of group visits, family gatherings, and birthdays, while charting new opportunities for growth.

While we won’t have our own facility until the library facility opens, we are devoting our time to expanding our programming to serve higher numbers of families with increased community collaborations. We will be piloting mobile exhibit experiences through partnerships with local organizations and businesses that invite learning and play, which will shape our services to be delivered at the library.

Thank you for your past and continued support of our work, and we’ll look for you on our dynamic new path!
